MW GOLDEN CONSTRUCTORS (MWGC) will celebrate its thirtieth anniversary on November 8, 2014. “Lasting thirty years is an accomplishment in any industry, but especially in construction. It’s a tribute to the hard work of our employees and the relationships we’ve established with owners and subcontractors,” reflected Mike Golden, FAIC, CPC, founder of MW GOLDEN CONSTRUCTORS. Golden spent eleven years working in the industry in various roles before incorporating the company that now bears his name. He graduated from Bradley University in 1973 with a degree in Construction.
In 30 years, the list of owners for which MWGC has delivered projects is a who’s who of Colorado companies and government entities. The City and County of Denver, Oliver Manufacturing, The Lodge Casino, Douglas County Schools, Roaring Fork Transportation Authority, KeyBank, Aurora Public Schools, City of Glenwood Springs, and Climax Molybdenum are recent examples.
MWGC was named to the American Subcontractors Association of Colorado’s Hall of Fame in 2004 after being named its General Contractor of the Year five times. MWGC received the GC of the Year award for a sixth time in 2013. Engineering News Record recognized the company with a Best Project award in 2011 for its work on the Roaring Fork Transportation Authority’s Glenwood Maintenance Facility. Colorado Construction Magazine has included MWGC in its Gold Hard Hat awards three times, most recently in 2010.
