MW GOLDEN CONSTRUCTORS Kicks Off Adams 12 Five Star Schools CMGC Project

Extensive renovations to Horizon High School’s plumbing system has begun. Acting as CMGC, MW GOLDEN CONSTRUCTORS (MWGC), of Castle Rock, will replace the sanitary and venting systems throughout the facility where they are broken, cracked, corroded, or leaking. The existing cast iron piping will be replaced with new age cast iron.

Eleven public restrooms, ten faculty restrooms, custodial and auxiliary spaces, and various classrooms will be affected by the project. Three public restrooms and four faculty restrooms will be renovated, and a new auditorium lobby restroom will be added. Low flow fixtures will replace original fixtures throughout the building. All interior finishes in these areas will be replaced due to the extent of demolition required to access the sanitary and vent lines. This includes drywall partitions, MMA flooring, masonry, restroom accessories, casework, and tiling. The project is being phased for summer break to avoid impacting students, though school and district staff will still occupy the building over the summer.

This is MWGC’s second project at Horizon High School in the past ten years, continuing a strong relationship between MWGC and Adams 12 Five Star Schools. In recent years, MWGC has successfully delivered projects at Legacy High School, Rocky Mountain Elementary School, STEM Magnet Lab, Hunters Glen Elementary School, Riverdale Elementary School, and Horizon High School.
